4 days in Boracay

First time in the Philippines and wow beach voibes were on.

Making your way there

Once you have landed, the first thing you’ll probably look for is a SIM card, which costs 300 pesos (SMART 5G, 13GB), that you can get when you land at Boracay’s airport. If you have not already gotten your transportation figured out, no worries! You can take a tuk-tuk down to the port for 150 pesos. Before paying another 500 pesos/pax total for the ferry and all other taxes, marine fees etc. We were lucky enough to have a staff there expedite the process and within 10 minutes, we were on the ferry! Once you arrive, an e-trike to Fairways & Blue Water Resort cost us another 250 pesos.

Getting around was easy as there were many e-trikes around and prices were fixed.

Note: Getting there yourself is definitely way cheaper than if you were to book it through some other site, but I guess it depends on your budget and convenience.

As for coming back, the total amount came up to 310 pesos/pax (150 for terminal fee, 160 for boat ticket) which includes the tuktuk from the port back to the airport (MPH).

Things to do

You’re all set to explore the white beaches of Boracay and I must warn you, there are SO MANY people who will approach you for water activities and island tours. We pretty much settled our Island Tour, parasailing (highly recommend adding on the insta360 option if you do not have a GoPro) and paraw activities, having booked them via Klook. But if you’re one for haggling prices and chatting up locals, you will have many opportunities. But yes, so far we managed to get two contacts if you’re keen to ask for pricing.

Contact details for water activities:

  • Sam: 09192104985

  • Jan: 09072581914

You can also try other water activities like banana boat, UFO, helmet diving, kitesurfing and more!

Note: They charge by per boat so try to go as a bigger groups.

If not, I suggest chilling by the sand and enjoying the sunsets here.

Note: Sunsets can be seen on the left side of the island (Puka Shell Beach, Diniwid Beach, White Beach).

Or if you’re up for some exercise, you can do a hike from Bulabog Beach, known for its strong winds, all the way to Bulabog Viewpoint (120 pesos/pax to go up) and back as a loop. You can also do a cute walk from Willy’s Rock to Lambros Point all the way to Diniwid Beach as well.
